The new Record crankset with integrated bottom bracket is the most technologically advanced version of the Ultra-Torque system. The oversize axle with outer cups is combined with a carbon fibre structure which is completely hollow internally. The main crank arm is hollow, as are the small r/h chainring arms.
The new Campagnolo Ultra-Hollow structure combines high-pressure moulding -compacting fibres, like never before, with material removed from non-stress areas. Oversize cranks of hitherto unprecedented lightness, strength, rigidity and long life, are produced. They have an oversize steel axle fixed directly to the crank saving considerable weight. Despite the use of outer cups, the Q factor and the lateral dimensions in the bottom bracket area remain substantially unchanged so riders do not have to change their riding position. Match this technology with the Ultra-Drive EPS anti-friction treated rings and you get a svelte 643g chainset of unmatched performance.
Ergonomics Campagnolo found a way to permanently join the semi-axles of the bottom bracket to the respective crankset arms. This redesign made it possible to considerably reduce the lateral dimensions at the axle level and prevent annoying contact with the ankles when turning the pedals.
Simple maintainance Assembly is simplistic: one single oversize bolt is enough to integrate the two semi-axles. As far as torque transmission efficiency is concerned, this system is equally as effective as a single piece axle.

In 2007 the revolutionary Ultra Torque bottom bracket technology was introduced. Now the mid-range groups are even more affordable - still with the same high level performance features.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet Power Torque System.
The new single-piece axle is firmly fixed to the right pedal crank. The coupling between central pin and crank is perfect. This technical development makes it possible to eliminate any potential play.
To make the bottom bracket more efficient, Campagnolo also worked on the inner part. Thanks to an elaborate sequence of thickness's, it was possible to obtain an incredibly light axle while offering an absolute response in terms of rigidity.
Thanks to the studies conducted by the Campy Tech Lab engineers, material was removed in the zones that could be lightened but at the same time the points of maximum stress were strengthened. Only in this way was it possible to achieve such a high technical value.
A careful working out of the dimensions made it possible to maintain the lateral measurements already defined with the "elder brother" Ultra Torque, thus guaranteeing the maximum freedom of movement and reducing the possibility of contact with shoes.
The design ensures simple installation and service. There are four simple steps for fitting the crankset quickly and without error. The right-hand bearing is already locked in place; the other is pre-inserted in the left-hand cup. No special tool is required - the new crankset is ready to propel you over endless miles.
That's right, because another one of the objectives of the Power Torque System project was prolonged operating resistance. The tests conducted by the Campy Tech Lab were very exacting in this regard. Now it's your turn.

The Supertype Carbon 11 RS crankset, with integrated bottom bracket axle system, are engineered with the patented hard structure "Double Valves" system and exceptional multi-directional texture carbon fibre. The inner core is made of FOAM HD and the outer surface of proven durability Plain Wave Carbon skin finish.
Supertype 11 Carbon chainrings in Ergal 7075 and CNC machined both in the ascent and descent movement of the chain offer a fast and precise shifting; heat treated HT to achieve higher rigidity and durability.
Smoothness in pedalling is guaranteed by the 24-mm diameter Over Size axle that runs incredibly smoothly over Skf(R) bearings.
The available crank measures are: 170 - 172,5 - 175mm.
