EPS Electronic - Ergo Levers

EPS Electronic Power Shift

Campagnolo Super Record is the lightest electronic drivetrain in the World. Both Super Record and Record EPS are a technology concentrate capable of unparalleled performance and the world's only 11 speed electronic drivetrain.

Just 5 principal components are all that is needed to convert a Campagnolo 11x speed gear system to EPS – front and rear mechs, EPS Ergo levers, a power unit and battery charger kit.

There are no fewer than 8 distinct advantages of the system.

Campagnolo EPS - the main benefits :-

  • • Four hours charge time.
  • • 2000 kms to one charge, when ridden consistently - dropping to 1700 kms if used over the course of 3 months, the system runs self-diagnostics to detect any faults.
  • • EPS has a small magnet that can be inserted in to the battery pack to turn the system on and off, to save charge when not used over long periods.
  • • EPS is fully waterproof; The Movistar team ran the system under water for 30mins during their team launch.
  • • Holding the up or down shift buttons for a longer period will allow a "double shift".
  • • Ability to climb the full block in just over 1.0 second by holding the up shift, and dropping the whole block in under 0.8 of a second by holding the downshift lever.
  • • Ride Home function. When all your charge has been used you are able to ride back home manually shifting the rear mech by disengaging the motor allowing gear changing by hand.
  • • The shift buttons give the traditional Campagnolo click when pressed, this simulates the shift of the mechanical system with the benefits of digital system.

EPS Ergopower controls represent the direct "electronic" evolution of the well-proven mechanical Ergopower. Maintaining the special features, unaltered, the operating philosophy (one lever one action), Campangolo's trademark click feeling, Multishifting technology for the rear derailleur lever, the excellent ergonomics, the comfort of the brakes and the extreme braking efficiency.

THE MODE KEY: In addition to the 3 classic levers, the EPS Ergopower controls are equipped with what is known as a MODE key. By pressing on it briefly you can view the battery charge level, whereas by pressing on it longer you will enter adjustment mode without ever taking your hands off the controls.

COMFORT: The shape places the levers in a position that is easy to access at all times, without any effort at all, regardless of the steering position and whatever the size of your hands. By studying the positions of cyclists' hands, in fact, there were found to be 3 different riding positions depending on the route and riding style itself. These studies made it possible to create the special and exclusive shape of the EPS Ergopower controls, which unlike the mechanical controls, are equipped with a dedicated hood and the control body is made from a very new material that is more rigid and lighter.

EFFECTIVE BRAKING: The Ultra-Shift(TM) shape of the levers, as with the mechanical controls allows you to act on the brakes more powerfully. When you have a high grip on the handlebars, especially, it is possible to put the brakes on with more power and faster.

CLICK FEELING: The levers simulate the classic Campagnolo Click Feeling thanks to the application of MultiDome technology.

DTI: Digital Tech Intelligence is housed inside the Power Unit and it continuously monitors the signals that arrive from all the EPS components, thus managing their operation.

MULTI-SHIFTING: There are no longer any limits to Multi-shifting and the choice is at the fingertips of the cyclist.

ZERO SETTINGS: The procedures to reset the rear derailleur and derailleur to zero are essential for the system to function.

RIDING SETTINGS: The client can adjust the reference position of the rear derailleur and/or derailleur using the adjustment procedure known as Riding Setting.

ONE LEVER - ONE ACTION: The EPS system CONTROL levers are positioned and act according to the same logic as Campagnolo mechanical gear levers.

E2 ERGONOMY: The design of the body of the control conforms perfectly to your hands.

WATER PROOF: In order to achieve the IP67 classification, all the electronic components of the EPS system underwent a series of tests, which proved their ability to function perfectly under one meter of water for at least 30 minutes.

"There's no room for mistakes in Triathlons and Time Trials. This is why Campagnolo has created brake levers with the buttons for shifting up and down between sprockets and chainrings separated from each other at a safe distance.

This outstanding result was made possible by continuous collaboration with the world's leading triathlon and time trial athletes: perfect ergonomics and superlative ease of use translate to absolute safety and minimal energy wastage for the athlete.

Aerodynamic and, above all, ergonomic, the EPS(TM) brake levers let the user shift and derail effectively in any riding position.

Step onto your aerodynamic bike, place your arms on the bar-end and your hands on the new EPS(TM) controls. Snap into the pedals, and you're ready to challenge the clock.

The new EPS(TM) controls are designed to keep your hands in the most aerodynamically efficient position at all times. With a simple click of the controls, the front or rear derailleur move quickly and precisely into the desired position without wasting a hundredth of second more than necessary, letting you focus every ounce of your energy on beating the clock or your opponents.

The new Campagnolo electronic drivetrain controls with ""back to zero"" system

""Back to Zero position"" system: allows the lever to maintain an optimal position with respect to airflow and allows for less effort for the athlete

SWITCH MODE BUTTON: the ""mode"" buttons allow the user to check battery charge, make fine adjustments to the rear or front derailleur - even in the middle of a race (with the ""riding setting"" procedure), and set the zero position of the rear and front derailleur (""zero setting"" procedure)

Multi-Dome Tech(TM): these controls strike the perfect balance between operating force and tactile shift feedback, and also eliminate the possibility of unintentionally shifting the rear or front derailleur.
